Maxigesic PE combines the power of paracetamol and ibuprofen with a nasal decongestant phenylephrine for triple action cold, flu and sinus relief. This is a patented combination of Paracetamol 500 mg, ibuprofen 150 mg and phenylephrine 2.5 mg that provides temporary relief from cold and flu symptoms, including headache, fever, inflammation, body aches and pain, sore throat and nasal congestion (blocked or runny nose). Paracetamol works to stop the pain messages from getting through to the brain. It also acts to reduce fever. Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (or NSAIDs). It relieves pain and reduces inflammation (swelling, redness or soreness). Phenylephrine hydrochloride acts as a decongestant to reduce mucosal lining swelling and suppress the production of mucus.
